Innovation Forum VI - 2014
Crisis, innovation and transition

1, 2 and 3 October 2014  (Pôle universitaire Léonard De Vinci, Paris la Défense)

Special sessions > New challenges in aerospace industries

This aim of this special session is to investigate the new issues and challenges that aerospace industries are currently facing. The structures of aeronautics and space industries are rapidly changing. New markets as well as novel technological applications are emerging, deeply affecting the nature and logics of aerospace industrial dynamics. Research papers dealing with such issues as (i) the rise of novel forms of entrepreneurship within aerospace industries, (ii) the variety of constraints and opportunities opened up by environmental laws, (iii) the co-evolution of civilian and military aerospace markets, and (iv) the role played by emerging countries in the evolution of the aerospace industry, are particularly welcomed. How to explain these changes? Who are the key players leading and/or benefiting from those changes (e.g., suppliers, clients)? What are the implications of these new challenges on the strategy of incumbent firms? What are the consequences on the innovation and industrial evolution (e.g, new products? novel applications? growing importance of services? new forms of management (more open) of the innovation process?). All these questions (and many more!) shall deserve attention during this special session.
