Special sessions > Towards a new model of production for Maghreb countries.Besides the political and social changes generated by the Arab Spring, the movements facing the economic area appear also as major challenges of the Maghreb countries transition. The main aim of this special session is to analyze how, under what conditions and to what end companies can develop a new model of production and innovation that allows a transformation of the local production system and the value creation process. Private actors are not the only ones affected by these mutations. In a public policy perspective, the conception of a strategic State gives public actors responsibility for identifying the challenges and translating them into a program of actions to guarantee all productive transformations in the coming years. In this program, we may inquire about the strategic priorities which can be taken to develop a new model of production and innovation. The meso issue is not to be neglected. It is to define the boundaries of emerging institutional arrangements that will ensure the micro/macro connections. It is about innovation in terms of institutions, organization, emergence of new agents and local actors, governance etc. Proposals on sectors, territories or specific areas are also welcomed. In addition to its direct academic purpose, this special session aims to open a discussion among participants with the intention of finding the operating proposals for the construction of a new economic model for Maghreb region. Depending on the number of the selected proposals, organizers will plan one or more sessions on this topic.
