Innovation Forum VI - 2014
Crisis, innovation and transition

1, 2 and 3 October 2014  (Pôle universitaire Léonard De Vinci, Paris la Défense)

Special sessions > Pedagogical innovation and Knowledge Construction "30 years of using ICT in higher education"

Innovation is not a concept that necessarily implies intrinsic character of novelty, what's new in innovation is not the object in question or its content, but its introduction into a given environment. Although innovations are often developed to solve technical problems or deal with challenges, other innovations focuses on the development of services processes, changes the way in which knowledge is produced and communicated, which significantly changed the social role of the learner. In this context, pedagogical innovation is understood as the process of improving knowledge, which leads to new ideas, new knowledge or other applicable practices in professional life.

The study of pedagogical innovation has been a growing interest in research at the universal level and takes a key position in the institutional change in the world of higher education. Thus we confuse that global society has been transformed by interactive technologies, including personal computers, the web and mobile phones. The introduction of these technologies has led to new forms of knowledge which represents new pathways for learners. How this technological innovation has influenced higher education ? Or how numerical tools can support pedagogical innovation within the university system ?

That is why this session will give way to this vision of innovation that deserves to be discussed as well, because the future of higher education depends on the success implementation of such initiatives. The objective is to examine and evaluate new pedagogical learning approaches that are emerging in collaborative learning environments. On this basis, proposals that take into account these new requirements and that can contribute to provide an update on the global landscape of higher education practices through new technological tools are most welcome to feed the discussions.
